Obituary for Russell Allen Butts, Jr.
Russell Allen Butts, Jr., 67, of Martinsburg, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019.
Born on November 13, 1951 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Russell Allen Butts, Sr., and Mae Brannon Hess.
As a young man, he enjoyed participating in all sports including fast pitch softball, tennis and bowling to name a few. Russell enjoyed hunting and fishing, was an avid Orioles and Redskins fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Carper Butts; three children, Jamie Harrison, and (Becky Harrison), Amanda Nicole Harrison, and (Fernando Diaz), Allyson W. Butts, and (Kelly VanMeter); seven grandchildren, Aaron Harrison, Alexander Harrison, Adaline Harrison, Alexis Stout, Christian Harrison, Ivan Harrison, and Kiley Keene; one brother, Larry Hess and one sister, Debbie Henry.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Pastor Skip Hurley officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility at 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
