Obituary for Anna Belle Henson
Anna Belle Henson, 88, of Martinsburg, WV passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019. Due to Anna’s long-term health challenges she resided at Elmcroft for the last 10 months. Her permanent home was with her daughter Patricia Hosby-Bailey and son-in-law William, Sr.
Born May 25, 1931 in Markham, VA she was the daughter of the late Emma Brooks Hosby and the late Edward Hosby. She worked as a nurse at Andrews Air Force Base and was retired as a nurse from the VA Medical Center. After retirement, she was employed as a private duty nurse.
Mrs. Henson was previously a member of the Bethel Chapter #36, O.E.S. Her walk with God was of the Methodist faith, serving on usher boards, church choirs, and other capacities as needed.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Ann Hosby Bailey and husband, William, Sr.; one grandchild, Aaron Jones and wife, Jodi; and three brothers, John Edward, Robert Lee and wife Eleanor, Morris Russell and wife Beverly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, G. Thomas Henson; three sisters, Pauline Wainwright, Mary Emma Hosby, and Viola Broadnax; two brothers, James Henry and George A. Hosby; and one grandson, Bernie Jones.
Homegoing service will be held at noon on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood. Family will receive friends from 11:00AM to 12:00 Noon prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be offered to Hospice of the Panhandle or Elmcroft of Martinsburg.
