Obituary for James Mearvel Snyder, DDS
James Mearvel Snyder DDS, 71, of Martinsburg, peacefully went to be in the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 while at home.
Born September 12, 1948 in Martinsburg, Berkeley Co., WV, he was the son of the late Joseph Carlton and Anna Lorraine Lynn Snyder.
He was a 1966 graduate of Martinsburg High School and attended Shepherd College for a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, then West Virginia University for his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Upon graduation, Dr. Snyder returned to his hometown and served his community as a dentist until August of 2019.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Mumford Snyder; daughter Courtney Elhardt (Magnus) and grandson Kayden of Springfield, VA; sons Matthew Snyder and Ethan Snyder both of Martinsburg. He is also survived by sisters Doris Howard (Gerald) of Chicago, IL, and Joanna Snyder of Inwood, WV.
Jim is now finally home with his beloved daughter Anna.
Family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Brown Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019, 4:00 p.m. at the Hedgesville United Methodist Church with minister Randy Coyle officiating.
Interment will be in Hedgesville Cemetery.
