Obituary for Jean Dignazio (Harman)

Jean Harman Dignazio, 87, of Ranson, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the Jefferson Medical Center. Born March 4, 1932, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John Harvey Harman and Eva Mitchell Weber Harman.
Jean was of the Methodist faith and became a member of the Leetown United Methodist Church in 1977. She loved traditions, knitting, crocheting, and her cats. She was an avid bowler, was member of the American Legion Post 71 and was an active member of the VFW 3522 Women’s Auxiliary for many years. She graduated from Samuel Ready All Girls School and had been a Baltimore City police officer. Later, she became a postal worker and later retired from the Martinsburg Post Office.
She is survived by two sons: Guy Harvey Sheetz, and wife Gail, of Hempstead, Maryland, and Anthony Dignazio, and wife Alison, of Martinsburg; three daughters: Summer Greenhalge, of Baltimore, Maryland, Linda Stehr, and husband Tony, of Ranson, and Leslie Bittrick, and husband Bill, of Baltimore; two stepdaughters: Sandy Wade, and husband Wyatt, of Glengary, and Brenda Dignazio, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ellard Miller Dignazio; son, Wayne J. Sheetz, Jr., and two brothers, Harvey and Guy Harman.
A graveside service will be held at 3pm, Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, with Dr. Henry Christie officiating.
