Obituary for James Miller "Jim" Brady

James “Jim” Miller Brady, 88, of Martinsburg left this life on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 and entered his eternal life with his Heavenly Father.
Born April 19, 1931 in Martinsburg, WV he was the eldest son of the late Roger Lee and Mary Ellen Small Brady.
Mr. Brady was Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, served as a military police officer during the Korean War, was a member of the 167th WV Air National Guard; and owner and operator of the Alecia Beauty Salon in Winchester, VA for forty-four years. He was a member of the Pilgrim Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder Emeritus and he also served on the board at Faith Christian Academy for 16 years. Mr. Brady was a humble man of few words who was worthy of much praise. He was loved and respected by his many friends and family and will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wanda Lee Evy Brady; three daughters, Susan B. Patterson and husband Scott of Eatonton, GA, Jennifer B. Mann, and Karen Jo Brady both of Martinsburg; they shared six grandchildren, Stephanie Kemp of St. Louis, MO, James A. Brady and wife Tracey, Jonathan Mann and wife Meagan, Benjamin Mann and wife Heather, Ian Kirk and wife Keri, and Brady Mann all of Martinsburg; ten great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ella Louise Russell of Bloomington, MD, Clara Mae Staubs of Falling Waters, and Barbara Ellen Henderson and husband Ronnie of Kearneysville; and two brothers, Robert L. Brady and wife Louise, and Carlton Howard Brady both of Shepherdstown.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Virginia LeMaster and Vivian Elaine Brady.
Family will receive friends on Friday, September 13, 2019 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Pilgrim Presbyterian Church, 601 Albert Street, Martinsburg, WV.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00AM at Pilgrim Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kirk Blankenship, Pastor Jerry Mead, and Pastor Van Marsceau. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made in Jim’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
