Obituary for David Leon Smallwood
It is with great sadness & heavy hearts to announce that David Leon Smallwood, 70, passed away suddenly & unexpectedly on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at his home in Marlowe, WV.
He was born on August 24, 1949 in Martinsburg, WV, he was the son of the late Dorothy Mae Whitacre and Grover Smallwood.
Dave was a graduate of Musselman High School class of 1967, after graduation he enlisted for 4 years in the United States Air Force, then on return home he married the love of his life, Bonnie Sigler.
He was employed by Dupont for fifteen and a half years, then followed on to Compass, Hagerstown, MD, for twenty-two years. He then retired in 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Smallwood, of Falling Waters; four brothers, Grover Smallwood, Oklahoma City, OK, Harold Smallwood, Romney, WV, Jerry Smallwood (Diana), Union, WV, and Larry Smallwood (Barbara), Gerrardstown, WV; and three sisters, Martha Smallwood, Martinsburg, WV, Hilda Catlett, Winchester, VA, and Janet Tabler, Martinsburg, WV.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
