Obituary for Stephen Hale Hooper
Stephen Hale Hooper, 66, passed away July 8, 2019.
Born December 21,1952, in Washington, D.C. He was the son of Albert Gordon Hooper and the late Barbara Hunter Hooper of Charles Town, WV.
Steve lived and thrived in New York City with his wife Valerie Waldo Hooper to pursue his acting career, appearing in many off Broadway productions and several movies filmed there. He was instrumental in the revitalization of the Old Opera House in Charles Town, WV.
He is survived by his wife Valerie of 40 years, his daughter, Sasha K. Young, his granddaughters, Genesis, Alexandra, and Alexis, his son in law Robert Acosta, his father Al Hooper, brother, Jack Hooper, sister, Pam Hooper, and brother in law, Brian Higgs, niece Emily Hooper and sister in law, Brenda Hooper.
Steve spent his entire married life trying to make his family laugh. His humor, intelligence, and kindness will be missed by all who knew him.
A Home Going Celebration will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Zion Episcopal Church in Charles Town, WV.
As per Steve’s request, please wear comfortable Hawaiian luau attire if possible.
