Mary Linton Rogers, 89, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at her residence while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle from Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia.
Born August 13, 1929 in Berkeley Co., WV she was the daughter of the late John Nicely Linton and Margaret Catherine Beard Linton.
She had been a former cook with the Berkeley County Schools. She was also involved in her church, singing in the choir, taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years.
She was a 1947 graduate of Martinsburg High School.
She is survived by her husband of 70 ½ years, Harry “Bud” Rogers; one daughter, Susan Davis and husband Fred; three sons, Dave Rogers and wife Sherry, James Rogers and wife Kenda, and Mark Rogers and wife Leslie; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Margaret C. Hollida; one very special aunt whom helped raise her, Mary Linton Fahrney; and half-sister, Sylvia Cunningham Shannon.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Rudolph for all the care that was provided to Mary and all the caregivers from Hospice.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 11:00AM at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Messer officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
