Obituary for Virginia Elizabeth Glascock (Hartley)

Virginia Elizabeth Glascock, 76, of Charles Town, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019 in the Shenandoah Center. Born November 1, 1942 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Edward Hartley and Sarah Jane Brown. She was a cook at the Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She loved her soaps, catalog shopping and cooking for other people. She is survived by three sons, Douglas Leroy Glascock and wife Dessie of Charles Town, Don “Speedy” Glascock of Lebanon, VA and Harold “Willie” Glascock and wife Tina of Culpeper, VA, two daughters, Diane Moreland, of Kearneysville, and Peggy Bailey and husband Jeff, of Culpeper, VA; brothers, Fred Hartley, of Bunker Hill, Michael and Wayne Hartley, of Charles Town; sisters, Frances Dodson, of Madison, VA, Phyllis Dodge, of Winchester, VA, and Lorrie Keeley, of Madison, VA; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She had many friends who she considered family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband of 23 years, Marion Douglas Glascock, brothers Sammy and Roger Hartley and sisters, Margaret Edwards, Anna Cooper and Jane Brown. A Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Independent Fire Company, 200 W. 2nd Ave., Ranson, WV with the Pastor Joe Burwell officiating. Interment will be private.
