Obituary

Obituary for Kathleen Peraza (Rec)

Kathleen Peraza, 76, of Hedgesville, passed away Wednesday, June 19th surrounded by her family, at her residence.

Born February 6, 1943 in Brattleboro, VT, she was the daughter of the late Francis Rec and Bernice Brown Rec.

Kathleen was valedictorian of St. Michael’s School in Brattleboro and was a talented musician, both of which landed her a scholarship to The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.

In 1965, Kathleen married the love of her life, Hector Peraza, and started a family. She embraced the role of motherhood and raised three children. She loved being a mother and shared her love of music with her
children by teaching them to sing and play the piano.

In the early eighties, Kathleen began working for High’s Dairy, in Hedgesville, and went onto have a 25+ year career with 7-11 as Manager. She was a dedicated manager and believed in respecting her employees, many of which became her good friends. She received many awards for the success of her stores.

Kathleen enjoyed reading, and could always be found with a book nearby. She liked growing plants and loved her dogs.

Kathleen is survived by her husband of 54 years, Hector Peraza; two sons, Hector Peraza Jr., and Miguel Peraza and wife Kathy Baldwin Peraza; and five grandchildren, Christopher Windle, Stephen Windle, Brandon Windle, Louey Peraza, and John Peraza.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Peraza Robins.

She was loved by her family and friends, and will be missed.

Services and Interment are private.

Arrangements by Brown Funeral Home.

Elluz Peraza

I will miss her. I'm glad I had the chance to say how much I loved her, respected her and admired her before she left. And I also told her I wanted to give her a hug. She said she wanted lots of those. She came to get mine and it was a sweet experience. She is with God. We will see again her when we go there.
All my love and prayers for God's peace and comfort for my brother and my nephews. Love you bunches.
