Obituary for Gloria Jane Burkhart (French)
Gloria Jane Burkhart, 78, of Hedgesville passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at her residence while surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 7, 1941 in Hedgesville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Walter Lee French and Mildred Jane Pearrell French.
She was a member of Johnsontown Church of the Brethren.
She was a Certified Professional Secretary and retired from the Corporate Office of Pennsylvania Glass Sand Corporation. In her earlier years, she worked at Victor Products and after retirement she worked as Executive Secretary to the President of F&M Trust Co. in Winchester, VA.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William Franklin “Butch” Burkhart, Jr.; one brother, Walter L. French, Jr. and wife Judy; one sister, Virginia L. Hessler; and a number of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11:00AM at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Denny Rhoe officiating.
Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
