Obituary for Betty Jane Webber (DeHaven)

Betty Jane Webber, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at her home in Martinsburg.

Born on October 3, 1955 in Berkeley County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph J. and Esther E. Hoffmaster DeHaven.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Steven V. Webber of Martinsburg; her sister, Elizabeth Ann DeHaven of Hedgesville; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Betty Jane was a life-long member of Hedgesville United Methodist Church where she sang in the Church Choir for over 50 years. She was a former Church Trustee and Administrative Council member and was currently serving on the Church SPRC/PPR Committee.

She graduated from Hedgesville High School, class of 1973. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Shepherd College in Elementary and Early Childhood Education in 1977 and then went on to receive her Master’s Degree from West Virginia University.

Betty Jane taught in the Berkeley County School System as a kindergarten teacher for 30 years at Opequon Elementary School retiring in 2007.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Dennis E. Jackman officiating. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
