Obituary for Ramona Clara Smith (Hess)
Ramona Clara (Hess) Smith, of Martinsburg, passed away peacefully Monday, April 15, 2019 at Berkeley Medical Center.
Born June 14, 1933 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Allen Albert Hess and Florence Amelia (Bender) Hess.
She was a 1951 graduate of Hedgesville High School. Ramona was a licensed practical nurse and was an Elder of First Presbyterian Church. She was also secretary of Hedgesville Cemetery from 1954 to 2017.
She is survived by her three sons, Mickey Warren Hess, and Gregory Scott Hess and wife Kit, and Stacey Blake Smith; grandchildren, Krista Kidwell and husband Bret, Brian Hess, Allison Barrett and husband Josh, and Jennifer Hess; six great-grandchildren, Ian Kidwell, Ava Kidwell, Brody Kidwell, Joshua Barrett II, Madison Barrett, Trenton Hess; one sister, Pauline Ellis; and one brother, Albert Hess, and a number of special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bobby” A. Smith on June 14, 2005; infant son Bradley Hess; two sisters Anne Wise and Anita Bauer; and one brother, Edgar Hess.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Brown Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 20, 2019 at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Wolverton officiating. Interment will be in Hedgesville Cemetery.
