Obituary for Wilma Lenore Cooper (Shears)

Wilma Lenore Cooper, 86, of Inwood, passed away Monday April 15, 2019 at Evergreen Nursing Home.

Born August 13, 1932 in Arbovale WV, she was the daughter of the late Richard H. Shears and Gladys (Gillespie) Shears.

She was a longtime member of Bunker Hill Presbyterian Church serving as an Elder.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and Past Worthy Matron of Golden Rule chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

After retiring from Corning, she volunteered for the Read Aloud Program in Berkeley County Schools.
She was aslo a member of the Red Hat Society where she enjoyed many fun dinners out with her friends.

She is survived by six sons, Kenneth L. Cooper and wife Margaret of Inwood, John R. Cooper and wife Debbie of Martinsburg, Alan D. Cooper and wife Leslie of Bunker Hill, David L. Cooper and wife LouAnn of Greenville, NC, James L. Cooper and wife Lisa of Suffolk, VA, and Bradley L. Cooper and wife Teresa of Inwood; one daughter, Pamela Whetsel of Altoona, PA; one brother, Duane Shears and wife Irene of Charles Town; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Cooper; two brothers, Richard and Glenn Shears; and one sister Marilyn Lindsay.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday April 19, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Rev. Ron Potter officiating.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Chapel.

Interment will be at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
