Mattie Jane Starliper, 89, of Hedgesville passed away February 8, 2019 at Berkeley Medical Center.

Born August 30, 1929 in Petersburg WV, she was the daughter of the late Edward George and Sarah Cook George.

Mattie worked at Perfection Garment and the Woods Resort. She loved her family and flower garden and babysitting children.

She is survived by two daughters; Cathy White and husband Robert, Tyra Kolb and friend Jeremy Canfield; one brother Luther and wife Gen George; one sister Luella Jordan; five grandchildren Brandon, Zachary, Austin, Spirit and Breezy; one great granddaughter Haley Anne and husband Joshua; three great great grandsons Bentley, Kasyn, Emerson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and friends, and a cat Jackson and grand dog Blue.

She is preceded in death by her husband Marshall (Jim) Starliper; eight brothers Evers, Eston, Arthur, Carl, William (Shorty), Harry, Casper (Tim), and Lester George.

Services with be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home 327 West King Street Martinsburg WV 25401 with Pastor Anthony Pirrone officiating.

Receiving friends one hour prior.

Interment will be held at Tomahawk Cemetery Hedgesville WV.
