Obituary for Charles William Henry

Charles William  Henry
Rev. Charles William Henry, 80, of Ranson, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at home surrounded by his family.

Born September 11, 1938 in Jefferson County, WV he was the son of the late Abner Henry and Elizabeth Chamblin Hough.

Charlie was a very active member of Masonic Lodge # 80 AF & AM and their many organizations associated with the Masons. He served as Chaplin and was a life-member of FOP #83.

He had retired from the Charles Town Police Department where he served as Captain. He also retired from the City of Charles Town.

Pastor Charlie was a graduate of Wesley Seminary and had served with Berkeley Place/Friendship United Methodist Churches, and recently with Inwood United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Fritts Henry; one daughter, Sheila Owens and husband Brian of Martinsburg; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Owens; two brothers, Gary Henry and wife Vickie of Ranson, and Robert “Bobby” Henry and wife Judy of North Carolina; special cousin, Cliff McDonald and his special friend Lydia; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Lewis, Rev. John Yost, Rev. Dr. Edward Grove, and Rev. Edgardo Rivera officiating at Inwood United Methodist Church, 62 True Apple Way, Inwood, WV 25428. Private interment will be in Edge Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Inwood United Methodist Church, PO Box 1730, Inwood, WV 25428 or Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Drive, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
