Ned L. Boyd, 88, of Martinsburg passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019.

Ned was born on February 21, 1930 in Martinsburg and was the son of the late Dory E. Boyd and Detta Ella Leith Boyd.

He attended Martinsburg High School. He served with the US Marine Corps and retired from E. I. DuPont after 35 years of service. He was a member of WV Turkey Hunter’s Hall of Fame and was a founding member of the Posey Hollow Gun Club of Morgan County. Ned was an extraordinary outdoorsman, story teller and listener and he never met a stranger.

He is survived by one son, Daniel N. Boyd of Charleston; one daughter, Sharon R. Tusing and husband, Tom of Pinedale, Wyoming; seven grandchildren, Tatiana Boyd, Nicholas Boyd, Georgia Boyd Powell and husband James, Matthew Cody Tusing and wife Cyndi, Chris Tusing and wife Brooke, Ella Riggs and husband John, and Danielle Elizabeth Boyd; seven great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Emma and Elizabeth Riggs, Lilian and Henry Tusing and Autumn and Morgan Tusing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Jean Hafer Boyd; one son, Stephen D. Boyd; one brother, John D. Boyd; five sisters, Georgia Young, Dorothy Boyd, Wilda VanMetre, Mary Pierce and Ruth Miller.

A Gathering of Remembrance and Love will be held at the Martinsburg Moose Lodge #120, 201 Woodbury Avenue, Martinsburg, on April 6, 2019 at 1 PM.
