Obituary for Gregory Michael "Mike" Luke
Gregory Michael “Mike” Luke,70, of Martinsburg, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Berkeley Medical Center.
Born November 27, 1948, in New Martinsville, WV, he was the son of the late, Ryland Richardson Luke and Sylvia Rose Casto Luke.
He was a devout follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and a member of the Fellowship Bible Church. He enjoyed an active career with the US Fish and Wildlife Service in Alaska, but eventually retired from the farrier business he founded.
Mike was a blacksmith who also greatly enjoyed riding horses. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and a multitude of other nature filled pursuits. One of his favorite hobbies was participating in Civil War reenactments, and due to such, he was a member of the Lee’s Lieutenants Living History group, as well as the 35th VA Cavalry Unit.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Genna” Katharine Luke; three sons, John Michael Luke, Jason Andrew Luke and girlfriend, Sierra Puffinburger, Adam Richardson Luke and wife, Caitlyn; and one brother, Patrick Ryland Luke.
Family will receive friends Monday, December 3, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Fellowship Bible Church with Pastor Van Marsceau officiating.
