Obituary for Freddie Lee "Pete" Elliott

Freddie Lee “Pete” Elliott, 54, of Kearneysville, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018, at the Jefferson Medical Center. Born July 12, 1964, he was the son of Pearl Elizabeth Moyer Elliott, of Kearneysville, and the late Arthur Clark “Skip” Elliott.
Pete was of the Pentecostal faith and had attended the Pentecostal Church in Middleway when it was under the leadership of his grandfather, the late Pastor Clark Elliott. He was a great husband, father, brother, son, and “Pappy Pete.” He was a simple man who loved his family, cars, and his “dream Harley,” which he was finally able to purchase in 2006. He owned and operated Pete’s Auto for 30 years and loved painting and working on cars and drag racing his ’66 Chevelle at the Mason Dixon Speedway. Pete was extremely big-hearted with all animals. He was always bringing home strays, a duck named Aflac, and two pigs, Thelma and Louise.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Vicki Gay Penwell Elliott; 2 sons: Jason Whittington, and companion Peggy Barton, of Clearbrook, VA, and Brian Whittington, and wife Tammy, of Bunker Hill; a daughter, Shannon Huff, of Middleway; 2 brothers: Arthur “Scott” Elliott, of Kearneysville, and Danny Palmer, and wife Amanda, of Bunker Hill; 10 grandchildren: Valerie, Brooke, Jayden, Justin, and wife Lydia, Melissa, Amy, Brian, Brandi, Samantha, and Andrea; 6 great grandchildren: Ashton, Kamden, Braiden, Mark, Bentli, and Tony, and numerous extended family members and friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Kevin Huff.
Services and interment will be private.
