Obituary for Linda Jene "Mom" McQuaid (Bailey)

Linda Jene “Mom” McQuaid, 70, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Berkeley Medical Center.

Linda was born on August 18, 1948 in York, PA and was the daughter of the late Thomas F. Bailey and Norma Jene Smith Bailey.

Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Family was everything to Linda and she adored her husband, children and grandchildren.

She was a nurse in the ER at Berkeley Medical Center as well as an EMS instructor. She had also been a nurse at the VA Medical Center. She was a lifelong member of the Hedgesville Volunteer Fire Department, a volunteer at the Apollo Civic Theatre and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was also a Penn State University fan.

She is survived by her husband James “Doc” E. McQuaid; one daughter, Kasey Murphy and husband Carl; one son, Jimmy McQuaid and girlfriend Carrie White; ten grandchildren; Myranda, Ben, Dustin, Logan, Ashlee, Alexis, Mason, Colton, Bryleigh and Trey; several great-grandchildren; one brother, Ken Bailey and wife Shirley; and one sister, Marsha Martin.

Family will receive friends on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 6-9 PM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel with Rev. James D. Riley, Jr. officiating. Interment will be at Hedgesville Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
