Obituary for Naomi Mae Oates (Myers)

Naomi Mae Oates, 75, of Kearneysville, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 at her home surrounded by her immediate family under the care of Hospice.

Naomi was born on April 28, 1943 in Hancock, MD and was the daughter of the late Paul L. Myers and Pearl Royce Snyder Myers.

She had been employed in the lab at Musselman Apple Plant, ACME Grocery and a cook for Jefferson County Schools.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Lady of the Moose and a coach of Jr. Duck Pin Bowling for 35-40 years. She enjoyed water aerobics, ceramics and decorating cakes.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gerald W. Oates; one son, Tony Oates and wife Barbie; one daughter, Sherry Robinson and husband Eric; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle at 330 Hospice Way, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
