Obituary for James Russell Miller Sr.

James Russell Miller, Sr., 86, of Bunker Hill, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at his home.

Born April 3, 1932, in Arden, WV, he was the son of the late Feldmon William Miller and Katherine Elizabeth Oliver Miller.

He retired from 3M Company having 28 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1952 to 1956. He was a gunner on B-26 Invader in the 8th Bomb Squadron in Korea.

Jim loved taking scenic photos, gardening, especially tomatoes, he enjoyed going to auctions, flea markets and antique shows. He was a frequent donator of blood with the Red Cross.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita June Pennington Miller; two sons, James R. Miller Jr. and wife Rita, Michael Ray Miller; two grandchildren, Jeremy Miller, Jonathan Miller and wife Kimberly; one great granddaughter, Isabel Miller; and a brother, Gary L. Miller.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Lee Miller; three brothers, Marvin William Miller, Franklin D. Miller, and F. Daniel Miller; two sisters Dallas E. Walker and Judith K. Miller.

Family receive friends Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at Brown Funeral Homes’ South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 14, at the Chapel. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
