Wilbert Douglas “Dougie” Clinton, Jr., 55, of Martinsburg became another angel in Heaven on Tuesday, July 10, 2018.

Born January 18, 1963 in Martinsburg, WV he was the son of the late Wilbert Douglas Clinton, Sr. and Carmalita Mae Newell Clinton.

He attended Gateway Ministries.

He played basketball for Martinsburg High School Bulldogs and was a 1981graduate of Martinsburg High School and Potomac State College. He was employed at Wal-Mart as a sales associate for the last 10; prior to working at Wal-Mart he was a chef with the Panhandle 76 Truck Stop Restaurant for 19 years.

He is survived by one son, Shane Clinton; daughter, Briana Clinton; step-daughter Kristen Painter; three sisters, Kim Clinton Skye of Ocean City, MD, Abby D. Harrison of Martinsburg, and Tracy L. Clinton of Atlanta, GA; number of nieces and nephews; and former wife Carla Clinton-Yates.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Dora Lee and Harry Lee; two brothers, Anthony “Tony” Newell and Randy Clinton; and one sister, Trina Clinton.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11:00AM at the Brown Funeral Home with Pastor James Shepherd officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
