Joseph Martin Heminway, 79, of Martinsburg, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Care Haven Nursing Home.

Born October 17, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George H. Heminway, Sr. and Lillian M. Martiliani.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed midget car, sprint and Nascar racing.

He is survived by his wife, Maryann Lenora (Shaw) Heminway; five daughters Barbara Chamberlin of Browns Mills, New Jersey, Mary Atkinson of Leesburg, Florida, Joann Blair of Martinsburg, Delores Pegg of Bushnelle, Florida and Cindy McMahan of Bryson City, North Carolina; two sons, John Heminway of Kearnesyville and Robert Heminway of Charles Town; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, William Heminway of Hainsport, NJ and sister, Dorothy Chambers of Martinsburg.

Services and interment are private.
