Darlene Kay Miller, 61, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at her residence. She leaves behind her husband of 48 years, Glenn Miller, Sr.

Born July 18, 1956 in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of late Thomas and Alberta (Shultz) Koontz. She was a member of New Life Community Church.

Darlene was a stranger to no one and a friend to everyone. A true people-person who genuinely loved life and lived it the best way that she could. She loved to work. She was the owner/operator of Appletown Auction, and had many other occupations throughout her vibrant life, such as, Bob Evans, where she worked for over 20 years, ROC's, and Macy's. She spent countless hours volunteering, helping to raise funds, and collecting items for numerous organizations and community events. Darlene loved spending time with her family and friends, traveling for vacations and day trips.

In addition to her husband Darlene is survived by two sons, Glenn M. Miller, Jr. and wife Heather and Jon Taylor and wife Stacey; a daughter Heather Stamets and fiance Chris Trace; a brother Bobby Koontz and two sisters, Sandra Calhoun and Pamela Durst; and a nephew, Steve Miller, who was like a son to her. She had many grandkids, Christopher Hensley, Geneive Hensley, Kristina Morr, Katie Snead, Heather Sheffler, Alexis Stamets, Madison Miller, Kaleb Dunham, Christian Miller, Michelle Miller. Second grandkids were Kenzi, Mere, Zack, Haily and Parker; great-grandkids, Kaia Ann, Riley, Landon, Mason, Eveybee and Daniel.

Family will receive friends on Monday, June 11, 2018 at South Berkeley Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Chapel on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Goforth officiating. Interment is private. The family will have fellowship at the South Berkeley Fire Hall after the service.
