Obituary for Alberta Lillian McElveen

Alberta Lillian McElveen, 71 of Ashburn, Virginia passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 in the Georgetown University Hospital. Born April 16, 1946 in Charles Town she was the daughter of the late Charles and Viola Yates Harris. She was a member of the Dulles Church of Christ. She is survived by son, Donald Roper and daughter, Maria Donielle McElveen of Ashburn, Virginia, brother, Lawrence Johnson of Ranson, sisters, Lucy Allen and husband Henry of Charles Town and Esther Long and husband Charles of Hedgesville; one aunt, Bertha Jones; 5 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her foster parents, Tom and Dorothy Jones, husband, Crayton Edward McElveen, daughter, Michelle Danielle Watson, brothers, Edward and Charles Johnson, sisters, Bertha Newton and Viola Johnson and half sister, Kathleen Fields. Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Abner Carey and the Rev. Dr. Donald Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
