Obituary for David Leon Iden

David Leon  Iden
David Leon Iden, 81, of Inwood, formerly of Charles Town, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Grenich Care Home of Inwood.

Born May 13, 1935 in Berkeley Springs, he was the son of the late Jesse B. Iden and Lucille Hewett Iden.

David retired as custodian with over 30 years of service with Jefferson County schools serving Ranson and Harpers Ferry Elementary School. He was well rooted in his Christian faith; an avid lover of county and gospel music; and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing.

He is survived by his brothers, Gary B. Iden of Martinsburg and Jack E. Iden of Ranson, his sister, Carolyn I. Hampshire of Charles Town; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jesse Richard Iden, Charles W. Iden, and Wayne Iden Hewett.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel with Chaplin Doug Knupp officiating.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00PM at the Damascus Cemetery in Fulton County, PA.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430, or a Christian charity of one's choice.
