Myrtle Jean  Ison (Fleming)
Myrtle Jean (Fleming) Ison, 83 of Martinsburg, WV passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Jefferson Medical Center, Ranson, WV after a brief illness. Born February 5, 1932 in Jackson, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Willie Fleming and Viola (Singleton) Fleming.

She was a member of the House of Prayer Church of God, Charles Town WV and a former member of Greater Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ, Farrell, PA. She served on the Mother’s Board and Nurse’s Guild. She was also an advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness.

She is survived by five sons, Gary (Yvonne), Frederick, MD; Eric (Angela) Greencastle, PA; Kenneth, Germantown, MD; Craig ,Rockville MD; Todd (Silke),Gaithersburg MD; two daughters, Cynthia (Kevin) Brown, Charles Town, WV and Regina (Gary) Dowdy, Kearneysville, WV; daughter- in-law, Barbara Ison, Upper Marlboro, MD and a special niece Babylyn Fleming, Hagerstown, MD; thirty-five grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril Ison and a daughter Sonja Williams and husband, Cleveland, brothers, Lee, Vivian, Willie Jr., Roysalle and Wallace Fleming, sisters; Annie Robinson, Odessa Scott, Lela Fleming, Mary Phillips, Lillian Gilchrist, Ruby Fleming and Shirley Fleming, a grandchild, Kenneth Ison II and a great-great grandchild Zjaire Williams.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the House of Prayer Church of God, Charles Town, WV with Pastor Paul Brown officiating. Interment will be at Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
