Obituary for Raymond P Chrisman


Raymond P. Chrisman, 88, of Bunker Hill, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility. At the time of his passing he was surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Born October 15, 1926, in Charles Town, he was the son of the late Walter and Annie Dodson Chrisman.

He was a member of the Vanville Christian Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and proudly served his country during World War II.

Raymond was a Dairy Farmer for 17 years during his early life and later was employed by the VA Medical Center from which he retired in 1988. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias.

He is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Robertson and friend Harold Sibert, Jr.; two sons, Phillip Chrisman and wife Trudy, Alvin Chrisman and wife Betsy; two brothers, Eugene "Dick" Chrisman, Garland "Brownie" Chrisman; two sisters, Martha Ann Bradley, Helen "Snooks" Mason; five grandchildren, Eric Chrisman and wife Amy, Amanda Brown, Kristi Donnelly and husband Billy, Rachel Meadows and husband Eric, Heidi Chrisman and friend Lance Chilcott; eight great grandchildren, Kailyn and Kevin Brown, II, Cassie, Brady, and Keleigh Chrisman, Alexis, Allison, and Dylan Donnelly; three step-grandchildren, Denise Hess and husband Gerry, Carla Catricala and husband Tony, Kelly Catizone and husband Michael; eight step-great grandchildren, Garrett, Gage and Bethanney Hess, Peyton Bean, Dimitri and Liam Catricala, Elise and Milani Catizone, one great- great step grandson, Gavin Hess, thirty five nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Thelma M. Fadeley Chrisman in 1995; five brothers, Walter, Jr., William, Robert, Nelson, and Edward Chrisman; five sisters, Louise Titus, Elizabeth Ranalli, Christine Miller, Doris and Betty Jean Chrisman.

The family will receive friends on Sunday March 1, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 2, 2015 at the chapel with Rev. Charles Henry officiating. Interment will be held in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
