Edward Matthew Files, Sr., 88, of Martinsburg passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at his residence.

Born December 3, 1929 in Chicago, IL he was the son of the late Charles J. Files and Lenwood Widmyer Files.

He was a retired flight engineer with the US Air Force. He was a member of the Moose, Elks, and the Robert White Lodge #67 AF & AM.

He is survived by a son, Edward M. Files, Jr.; five grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Janet Ebeling, Carole Crabill, and Cloris Welch.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty “Sis” Elizabeth Miller Files; one daughter, Sandra C. Henry; and one brother, Jacob A. Files.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 11:00AM at Brown Funeral Home. Masonic graveside service will be conducted at Rosedale Cemetery with military honors.
