Charlie Junior Ballou, 74 of Kearneysville, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 in the Meritus Medical Center. Born February 9, 1944 in South Boston, Virginia he was the son of the late Kit Ballou and Marie Marable Ballou. Charlie was of the Baptist faith, worked as a truck driver for Rockville Fuel and Feed.
He is survived by his companion of 25 years, Tammy Lynn Combs, four sons, William Ballou and wife Brenda of Smithfield, Virginia, Charlie Ballou of Gaithersburg, Maryland, John Ballou of Martinsburg and Matthew Ballou of Kearneysville, one daughter, Michelle McLaurin and husband Carroll of Hyattsville, Maryland, two brothers, George Ballou and wife Helen of Charles Town and Kit Ballou, Jr. of Kearneysville and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Troy Chandler and sister, Evonne Link.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Denise Dove officiating. Interment will be in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
