Darlene Ellen Miller, 87, of Martinsburg, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Born January 13, 1931 in Hardy Co., WV, she was the daughter of the late Waldo Ashby and Odessa Mae Wilkins Sherman.

She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church and previously attended St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. She was a superintendent and heavily involved in the children’s ministry at St. Luke’s. She served as a Sunday school teacher for the Fidelity Class for 12 years at Otterbein.

Her proudest achievements were always related to her relationship with Christ and her five children along with their families. She led a full, active life never seeking worldly riches but always seeking the peace, love, and promise that God provides and offers to everyone.

She is survived by her two sons, Patrick Murphy and wife Beverly of Martinsburg, and Marshall P. Murphy and wife Debra of Charleston; three daughters, Barbara Lloyd and husband Bill of Shady Grove, PA, Kathryn A. Murphy and husband Gerald Cooperman of Martinsburg, and Laura F. Petrie and husband Ralph of Martinsburg; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Robert “Bill” Miller; her previous husband, Carlton Luttrell, Jr., and a grandson, Eric Lloyd.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mike Cantley officiating at Otterbein United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the serviceat Otterbein United Methodist Church, 549 N. Queen Street, Martinsburg.

Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
