Obituary for Barbara Ann Bitner (Bradley)

Barbara Ann Bitner, 73. Passed away peacefully in her home on August 31, 2018.
Barbara was born in New York to the late Daniel and Anna Bradley.
She was the sister of Howard Bradley, Daniel Bradley and the late Tom Bradley. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Bitner and the caring mother of her son; Brian Merson, her daughters; Regina Merson, Christina Merson and Melanie Merson and her step daughter; Carla Jo Bitner. She was a caring Grandmother to Anya Hawk, Brittany Merson, Erica Shearer, McKenzie Fraley, Kristopher Eichelberger and Cameron Jordan and she was the loving great grandmother to her five great grandchildren. Barbara devoted her life to her family, her career and helping animals.
She was a talented dog groomer for over 40 years while she maintained her own grooming shop and mobile grooming business. She has been employed as a groomer by the Ark Animal Clinic since they opened in Hedgesville 15 years ago. Barbara found peace among animals and she found purpose in giving animals the love, respect and attention they deserved.
She loved to spend her free time with her family, and could often be found enjoying the outdoors, or riding her horses. She loved traveling and her family will always have many fond memories of camping trips and adventures with her over the years.
Barbara will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held in her honor at a later time, and a private interment will be attended by her immediate family, as she wished.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to your local ASPCA .
