Obituary for Christina Rita "Teenie" Yurish

Christina R. Yurish, lovingly known as “Teenie” by family and close friends, 85, of Martinsburg passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018.

Born February 15, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Paul Joseph Yurish and Anna Bittorie Yurish.

She was a graduate of Martinsburg High School and employed by Interwoven Mills and Handy and Harman. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Christina is survived by one cherished granddaughter, Kerri Sparkman and son-in-law Randy Sparkman of Baltimore, MD, and one sister Frances B. Smallwood of Martinsburg.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Yurish Sparkman; five brothers, Stephen, Paul, Charles, Joseph, and Marvin Yurish; and five sisters, Helen Vincent, Dora Markle, Anna Price, Theresa Wilt, and Catherine Yurish.

Family will receive friends on Monday, September 3, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Thomas Gallagher officiating at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment prayers will be said in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Clary Grove who took such excellent care of Christina.
