Chief Master Sergeant John Wesley Montgomery, Jr., Retired USAF, 62, of Inwood went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 27, 2018.

Born February 8, 1956 in Frederick County, MD he was the son of the late John Wesley Montgomery and Nancy Stup Smarr.

John was devoted member of First Baptist Church of Inwood where he faithfully served through various ministries within the church since 1984.

He began his career in 1976 at the 167th Airlift Wing in Martinsburg in aircraft maintenance and retired as Chief Master Sergeant after proudly serving for 41 years with the US Air Force.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Teresa Cosner Montgomery; one son, Jason Montgomery of Inwood; one daughter, Lauren Hess and husband Travis of Martinsburg; three grandchildren, Jessa, Kylie, and Dylan; two brothers, Todd Montgomery of Louisville, KY and William Montgomery of Butler, PA; and one sister, Eleanor Montgomery of Salisbury, MD.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Inwood, 634 Middleway Pike, Inwood, WV 25428.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Inwood with Pastor Devin Ward and Pastor Joshua Marsh officiating. Military honors will be held at Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery.
