Condolence: You are a "True Gentleman" Phi Alpha! The True Gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self-control is equal to all emergencies; who does not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity; who is himself humbled if necessity compels him to humble another; who does not flatter wealth, cringe before power, or boast of his own possessions or achievements; who speaks with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy; whose deed follows his word; who thinks of the rights and feelings of others, rather than his own; and who appears well in any company, a man with whom honor is sacred and virtue safe. - John Walter Wayland (Virginia 1899)

Condolence: "The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred with dust, sweat and blood, who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotion and gives all of himself to a worthy cause; who at best when he wins, knows the thrill of high achievement, and when he loses, does so while daring greatly SO THAT HIS PLACE SHALL NEVER BE WITH THOSE COLD AND TIMID SOULS WHO KNOW NEITHER VICTORY NOR DEFEAT." Brian, you have won the ultimate victory, the great victory over death. You are now Captain on a team that never loses!

Condolence From: Lisa Foulk
Condolence: Brian was one of the most nicest, happiest people I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Always a smile and a kind word for everyone. The love he had for Pam was always evident, especially when he saw her. He just lit up entirely. The world is a better place for Brian having been here. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Pam and his children and grandchildren. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Brian was a great guy, a great leader and good friend. My thoughts and prayers are with Pam and the family. Roger Maloney Lou (lwbre@aol.com) Rod I was shocked to read about the passing of Brian. I remember him as a guy who didn’t complain, but inspired others with his gritty determination. I never heard him criticize his teammates, but I saw him go out of his way to encourage and praise players. He was a leader of our team and a great captain. In 1971, I played semipro ball with him and he was the same “chief.” He never changed. He had the same wry smile and the same steady confidence. My deepest sympathies go out to Brian’s family. He truly was one of the good guys, and he left this world way too early. Lou Bruchey ROBERT Kinsey (rtkinsey@comcast.net)To:you + 43 more Details Thanks for keeping the team informed Rod.
