Melvin Eugene  Hamilton
Melvin Eugene Hamilton, 83, of Martinsburg went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility.

Born March 5, 1935 in Martinsburg, WV he was the son of the late Carl Hamilton and Gussie Rinker Hamilton.

He was retired from the United States Postal Service with 45 years of service in 2002. He was a member of Winchester Avenue Christian Church where he had served as a deacon for many years and was active in the I.C. Busey Class.

He was a 1953 graduate of Martinsburg High School and was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame at Martinsburg High in 2017.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Ring Hamilton; one son, Mark W. Hamilton and wife Mollianne; one daughter, Anne Hamilton Martin and husband Rick; four grandchildren, Justin Sheets, Avary G. Hamilton, Owen W. Hamilton, and Lily L. Hamilton; one sister, Teresa Nicklin and husband Prince; sister-in-law, Elizabeth R. DeHaven and husband Larry; two brothers-in-law, Douglas G. Ring and wife Brenda, and Johnny M. Ring and wife Linda; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, C. Kenneth Hamilton.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2:00PM at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Benjamin Manning officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM prior to the service. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
