James Glenville DeHaven, 95, of Gerrardstown, WV passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Hospice of the Panhandle.

James was born on April 10, 1923 in Ganotown, WV and was the son of the late Clarence DeHaven and Matilda Whitacre DeHaven.

He had worked at the Box Factory and Anthony House Restaurant.

He is survived by one son; William W. DeHaven and girlfriend, Veronica Butts of Gerrardstown; one daughter; Thelma J. Barrett and husband Wilmer of Martinsburg; six grandchildren, Wilmer “Willie” Barrett and wife Angie, Kendra Chamberlain and husband Jerry, David DeHaven, Samantha DeHaven, William “Billy” DeHaven, Jr., Shawn Babington; twelve great-grandchildren, Trey Barrett, Annie Barrett, Trevor Chamberlain, Jacqui Chamberlain, Jonas DeHaven, Eddie DeHaven, Savannah DeHaven, Clayton DeHaven, Autumn Creamer, Mike Smith, Brayden James DeHaven, and Adrianna Martin; and one sister; Doris Miller of Martinsburg.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Ann (Allen) DeHaven who passed October 8, 2005; one son; Clarence E. DeHaven; two brothers; Donald DeHaven and Melvin DeHaven; and six sisters; Evelyn Shirley, Geneva Dunham, Nellie Brown, Hazel Lamp, Lena Douglas, Louella Parson.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.

Services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 1:00PM at the South Berkeley Chapel with Pastor Gary Sieglein officiating. Interment will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Frederick Co., VA.
