Obituary for Dorothy Lee Branson (McDowell)

Dorothy Lee Branson, 73, of Martinsburg, WV went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.

Dorothy was born on August 28, 1944 in Martinsburg, WV and was the daughter of the late John McDowell and Margaret Strother Creamer.

She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and sang in the Communion Praise Choir.

She is survived by four sons; James D. Branson and wife Deena, Neil Branson and wife Jessica, John Branson and wife Kelly, Jason Branson and wife Neriza; one daughter

Priscilla Young and husband Darryl; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six sisters; Margaret McDowell, Grace Schley, Cynthia Schley, Gladys Winfrey, Florence Derr and Marilyn Twyman-Stokes; a host of nieces and nephews and a close cousin; Marie Ann McDowell.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years James L. Branson and one granddaughter Desiree Rochelle Branson.

Homecoming celebration will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 615 W. Martin Street, Martinsburg, WV 25401 with Reverend James E. Brown officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
