Condolence: Joe has been my friend since 1992. The positive impact he had, and continues to have, in my life is beyond my ability to express. I will miss him deeply and I will think of him often. Thank you, Joe. Be well Sandy (and Daisy).

Condolence: I met Joe in the fall of 1974. He was very helpful to me in the early days and I will be forever grateful for that. We have been friends, off and on, ever since those days. I learned a lot from Joe.

He was, indeed, his own man. He lived his life just as he wanted to and sometimes that cost him in other ways.

Our friendship was such that when we did get together after being apart it was just as if we had seen each other the day before. He was sometimes prickly but never boring. Joe was a serious reader and often knew stuff way beyond what one might expect.

Rest in Peace, Joe Earle!!
