Obituary for Frances Russ (Mosby)

Frances Mosby Russ, 77, of Martinsburg, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Berkeley Medical Center.

Born December 28, 1940, in Darksville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Mosby and Roxie Wade Mosby.

She retired as an Administration Assistant after a long career of working at the Shawnee Girl Scout Council.
Frances enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, whom were the loves of her life. She attended Musselman High School and was the first African American to graduate from Musselman in 1958.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Brown of Martinsburg; two granddaughters, Aysha Baker and Tatiyana Walker; family friend and companion, Lawrence Green; and a host of nieces, nephews and many other family members.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold G. Russ; five brothers, Herbert E., Wendell E., George G., Charles A., and Lewis M. Mosby; four sisters, Iris V. Dennis, Delores M. Mosby, Nina M. Fox, and Carolyn E. Smalls.

Family will receive friends on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
