James Leon "Jim"  Edwards
James Leon “Jim” Edwards, 87, of Hedgesville passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at his residence.

Born June 13, 1931 in Martinsburg, WV he was the son of the late Leon Roosevelt Edwards and Retha Marie Avey Edwards.

He was the founder of Edwards Auction Service beginning in 1962.

He served in the US Navy during the Korean War.

Jim is survived by five sons, James Allen Hyatt, James “Butch” Edwards and wife Ria, Bruce Jeffrey Hyatt, Robert Glen “Duke” Edwards and wife Mary Anne, and Michael Zimmerman; one daughter, Michele L. Ballarin and husband Iginio; seven grandchildren, Jesse, Ryan, Christian, Leighan, Jennifer, Jimmy, and Damian; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Lee Edwards and one sister, Audrey Maxine Kilmer.

Family will receive friends on Monday, July 9, 2018 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11:00AM at Hedgesville Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Jack Rudy and Pastor Scott Sheets officiating. Interment will be in Hedgesville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
