Obituary for Elwood Bowers
Elwood Bowers, 84, of Hedgesville passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.
Born June 1, 1934 in Shanghai, WV he was the son of the late Ottis and Bertha Kerns Bowers.
He loved working on old cars and going to auctions with his nephew, Jimmy Greenfield and his dear friend, Brant Arvin. He was employed by National Fruit and owner operator of Bowers Salvage Yard.
He is survived by his loving wife Gloria M. Hutzler Bowers; one son, David Bowers and wife, Sarita of Berkeley Springs; one daughter Gail Rogers and a companion Brant Arvin of Bunker Hill; grandchildren Keith, Kenny, and Kelly Bowers; step grandchild Jackie; several great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by son-in-law, Wilt Rogers; two sisters, Dorothy Hess and Grace Richmond; a brother, Leslie Bowers; and a beloved dog, Lady.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 1:30PM at South Berkeley Chapel with Pastor Eric Kisner officiating.. Interment will be in Central Chapel Cemetery.
