Obituary for Claude Franklin Simpson Jr.

Claude Franklin Simpson,Jr., 68, of Martinsburg, passed away, Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the VA Medical Center.

Born June 26, 1949, in Purcellville, VA, he was the son of the late Claude Franklin Simpson, Sr. and Betty Jane Barcley Simpson.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Inwood and a Veteran of the United States Army. He was employed at Shockey’s in Winchester, VA.

Claude was an avid bowler, billiards player where he made it to Vegas and he enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Simpson; two sons, Charles Wesley Simpson, David William Franklin Simpson; seven grandchildren, Tevin Simpson, Charles Simpson II, Shari Simpson, David Lee Simpson, Brantley Largent, Aidan Simpson, and Delaney Simpson; eight great grandchildren, one brother, David Lynn Simpson; one sister, Diane Hurst.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Hurst.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Inwood with Pastor Devin Ward and Pastor Allen Hurst officiating. Entombment will be held at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
