Obituary for Roxie Royce Tucker (Ambrose)

Roxie Royce Tucker passed away peacefully at WVU Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg on Thursday, May 17, surrounded by loving family. She exhibited faith, grace, and love in her daily walk.

Born February 18, 1940, in Great Cacapon to Woodrow Wilson Ambrose and Charlotte Rockwell Ambrose. In 1948, Charlotte married Earl Wayne Hofe and moved to Martinsburg in 1955. All three preceded her in death.

She was a 1958 graduate of Martinsburg High School, where she was vice-president of the senior class. During her varied career, she worked as an administrative assistant, dental assistant, and director of sales in hotel management.

Roxie excelled at every task she undertook and made enduring friendships along the way. Devoted to family, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and was known for her ability to keep an orderly, immaculate home.

Roxie embodied a loving spirit, a kind heart, and a cheerful attitude. As a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she always managed to make the day brighter and the mood lighter.

In addition to her beloved husband of almost 57 years, Charles Douglas Tucker, she is survived by son Kyle D. Tucker, wife Cris, of St. Thomas, PA; son Kory L. Tucker, wife Lara, of Hagerstown MD; brother, Rodney R. Ambrose, wife Janice, of Manassas, VA; brother Darryl P. Hofe, wife Carolyn, of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Kenzie Tucker, Camden Tucker, Colt Tucker, Courtney Bert, and Cara Bender; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roxie was a valued friend and regularly dined with Janice Albright, Barbara Mauck, Sylvia Pickett, Peggy Clark, Cindy May, and Sherry Carney.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Services are to be scheduled at a later date at graveside for close friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berkley County Humane Society.
