Avery Raymond  Burkhart
Avery Raymond Burkhart, 18, of Hedgesville went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Berkeley Medical Center due to a motor vehicle accident.

Born March 15, 2000 in Winchester, VA he is the son of Amanda Burkhart Ryder and husband Jeremy and Michael Greijack and fiance Trish.

He attended Back Creek Valley Full Gospel Church.

He was a student at Hedgesville High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society, the Marching Band, and had the leading role as Prince Eric in the school’s production of The Little Mermaid. He had plans after graduation to attend Blue Ridge Community Technical College, where he was going to pursue a degree in education.

He was a member of the Tomahawk Warriors 4-H Club; and showed sheep for many years at the Berkeley County Youth Fair.

Avery had an infectious smile and with his outgoing and fun-loving personality he inspired everyone that he met. He was musically talented and had played the saxophone in the high school band for four years. His first job was at Chick-fil-a, where he was recently hired.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Bryana Ryder and Bailey Ryder; one brother, Brayden Greijack; maternal grandparents, Oscar Dick Burkhart and wife Patricia; paternal grandparents, Pastor Alan Greijack and wife Janis; uncle, Brandon Burkhart and wife Krystle; aunt, Shannon Matthews and husband Jason; cousins, Bo Burkhart, Khloe Burkhart, Malachi Matthews, Jonas Matthews, and Jacobi Matthews; and numerous other family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood, 287 Arden Nollville Road, Inwood, WV 25428.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, May 18, 2018 with Pastor Tom Snyder officiating at Back Creek Valley Full Gospel Church, 131 Norman Silver Drive, Hedgesville, WV 25427. Interment will be in the Back Creek Valley Full Gospel Cemetery.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 2:00PM at the Hedgesville High School.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Avery’s name to Hedgesville High School Band Boosters, Attention: Cory Hamrick, Director of Bands, 109 Ridge Road North, Hedgesville, WV 25427.
