Obituary for Robert Weber

Robert Weber, 85, of Martinsburg passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility from complications of pneumonia.
Born July 8, 1932 in Buffalo, NY he was the son of the late Lester Ray Giles and Elsie Marie Post Giles.
Robert "borrowed" a friend's identity and joined the Army at age 16. After being discharged, he legally changed his name and a year later reenlisted in the Army. His military career as a medic and administrator spanned 28 years. Many of those years were assignments in Korea, Japan and Washington, DC area (Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Military Personnel Center). His last assignment was 6th Army Headquarters, Presidio of San Francisco, CA, where he retired in 1978. He accompanied his wife Reba to various locations for her career in the federal government until she retired in 2000 and they made their forever home in Martinsburg.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Reba Marie Elliott Weber; two daughters, Naomi K. Gallo (Glen) of Rockville, MD; Jo-Ann L. Travelstead (Bill) of Potomac Falls, VA; step-daughter, Regina M. McIntire (Scott) of Winchester, VA; step-son, Gerald E. Oscar of Stephens City, VA; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his loving sister, Selah See of Olean, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews in Olean/Buffalo, NY area.
Memorial service and burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined.
