John Russell "Russ" Whittington, 87, of Shepherdstown, WV, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018.
Born May 20, 1930 in Shepherdstown, he was the son of the late Dudley L. Whittington and Nellie L. Hayes Whittington.
He was retired from Capitol Cement Company, where he had previously worked as a foreman.
He was a member of Galilean Baptist Church, and attends Leetown United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Carroll Whittington; step-daughter, Debbie Bucher; one step grandson, Asa Daniel Brewer; three great-grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler, and Hailey; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Franklin and Walter N. Whittington; three sisters, Edith Louise Ellis, May Virginia Gross, and Ethel Roberta Frye; and step-granddaughter, Katina Wright
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 11:00AM at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. John Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
