James Denzel  Smith
James Denzel Smith, 77, of Bunker Hill passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Hospice Inpatient Facility.

Born February 20, 1941, in Martinsburg he was the son of the late Frederick and Jessie M. “Kisner” Smith.

He was a 1958 graduate of Shepherdstown High School.

He was a retired mechanic from 3M company. Additionally, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force and the West Virginia Air National Guard. He was a member of the Isaac Walton Gun Club and Norwalk Antique Car Club.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sylvia M. “Keesecker” Smith; one daughter, Lisa G. Weller and husband Donnie, of Shanghai; one son, James K. “Colonel” Smith and wife Chrissy, of Bunker Hill; five grandchildren, Tabitha Barrett and husband Kenneth, Cody Hess, Chris Hess and wife Paige, Teather Smith, and Taylor Smith; and great-children, Brayden Hess, Gracie Hess, Alexander “AJ” Barrett and Zaide Tussing.

He was preceded in death by one brother Robert T. Smith; and one great granddaughter, Gwynne “Gwynnie Bee” Hess.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 1:00PM at the Connections Church, with Pastor Rich Sherrard and Rev. David Beeson officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility at 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
