Obituary for George Jeremiah Golden
George Jeremiah Golden, 81, of Falling Waters passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Extended Living Center at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg.
Born February 22, 1937 in Fulton Co., PA he was the son of the late Jerry Golden and Ida Gorden Golden.
He was a veteran of the US Army. He was stationed in Germany under the AUS Artillery where he was awarded the good conduct medal.
George liked to hunt, fish, and mow the lawn during his spare time. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by his family and close friends.
He is survived by a son, Jason Victor Golden and wife Heather of Falling Waters; daughter, Marlena Dawn Cedillo and her husband Rene Cedillo of Chambersburg, PA; five grandchildren, William Randolph of Martinsburg, Kirsten Golden of Falling Waters, Gaige Barahona of Chambersburg, Annah Barahona of Chambersburg, and Kailin “Bug” Golden of Falling Waters; siblings Opal Morse of Everett, PA< Barbara Young of Breezewood, PA, Florence Ruppenthal of Needmore, PA, Rachel Snyder of Hancock, MD, Richard Golden of Warfordsburg, PA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Anne Willard Golden; one daughter, Deanna Golden; grandson, Lucas Barahona; and siblings, Edith Shaw, Nancy McCarty, Margaret Mellott, Mary Grey, Sylvester Golden, Gerald Golden, and Raymond Golden.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 3:00PM at the Brown Funeral Home with Rev. William Swope officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VA Medical Center, Extended Living Facility, 510 Butler Avenue, Martinsburg, WV 25405.
